Let’s ask a real question, “Why do dogs love to roll in poop before they come into the house?!

OK, to be honest, they also love to roll in something that has been dead for a week before coming in the house.

Because they want to share the wonderful smell with their beloved packmates.

“.. why do dogs love to roll in poop?”

My cousin in law has a Golden Retriever. She just ADORES finding a dead, rotting deer in the woods. She rolls in it.. stinking to high heaven. My poor cousin almost fainted when the dog came in once.. stinking and had maggots dropping off her. (sorry if this gets anyone ready to spew.. it is a dog behavior that is weird to me!)

Why do dogs roll in smelly things?
1) Dogs have an acute sense of smell
2) Dogs are hunters
3) When hunting they know they need to smell like anything but a dog
Just like a human deer hunter would never spray themselves with AXE spray before going out
