Julia Child famously told Larry King that it has a "dead taste," and she would pick it out of a dish "and throw it on the floor." The pro-cilantro crowd is just as vocal, if not as descriptive. You can find the debate anywhere you find cilantro and the people who meticulously pick it out of their food.
We explore the adoration and hatred of this herb, and some other divisive foods, in our latest edition of Love It, Hate It. To get started, we asked staff writers Joan Morris and Martha Ross to square off on cilantro.

I love all of them.
With the exception of beets, which are delicious, I consider all of the other choices as inedible weeds, especially Brussels sprouts.
Kale yes
Beets roasted yes pickled no

Cilantro NO I’m allergic
I’m mildly allergic to cilantro. My sinuses fill up causing a headache, my nose runs, and I itch. So no thank you. :)

Saute with onions and peppers until it gets to the slimy stage. Put in a pyrex dish covered in bread crumbs or Parmesan. Bake until it isn’t slimy.

I grew up eating Okra almost daily. Like it very much tho it can be ruined by bad cook.
Brussels sprouts are OK.
Never eat the rest.
We grow our own and try not to poop in them.
