Wigan has an owner who probably has a lot to do with their success as well. Wigan are in the playoff spots now but they sacked their previous manager Owen Coyle, Martinez’s successor.
I’m just saying we shouldn’t read too much into things, one could say the team Martinez is winning with was largely created during Moyes’ reign as manager and that Manchester United was just a poisoned chalice job but I’m glad they went for Moyes in the first place, worth a try, Ferguson’s handpicked successor.
Actually Everton’s success has a lot to do with the players they got on loan (Lukuku, Barry, Deulofeu)
They will have a challenge in the off-season to replace them.

Which is also an argument for why they should have given Moyes more time but Manchester United are an international brand and I know everyone argues that this United team are better than anything Ferguson took over.
But didn't Ferguson lose two times in the Champions League in recent years to Bayern Munich? Moyes' team did just about as well.
They should have given Moyes more time but didn't because Manchester United are an international brand and as an aside, they are playing in that international cup in the US in July, August. I know that's basically a tour but it will give everyone a chance to see some European teams nonetheless and should be interesting considering the Red Devils will have a new manager.
Ancelotti was treated poorly imo at Chelsea and he is suprised Moyes was sacked and sympathizes with him. MUFC should have given Moyes more time.
I agree 100% that Moyes got a raw deal.
I think he deserved an off-season to try to right the ship and bring in more of his players, and get rid of the vestiges of the Sir Alex era.
Heck, if Will Muschamp can still be the coach at Florida, then Moyes should still be at MU.

Agree or disagree, I always like reading Brian Glanville’s columns and he just came out with one on this event. Glanville came out with World Soccer, the monthly magazine decades ago and is still writing. He also authored a history of the World Cup that is decent.
One of the major part of Wigan’s attendance problem is due to that they are more of a Rugby city than they are a soccer city. Wigan was one of the least financed teams in the Premier League.
Just look at the difference that Martinez made after getting to a much better financed and supported club in Everton. I am not sure that David Moyes could have Everton right now in a position to possibly get in the Champions League. Moyes is not a good enough of a coach to put a Europa League or Champions League team together.
We’ll see with time.
Some people say Rafa’s team that won the Champions League was basically built by his predecessor, Gérard Houllier.

I don’t recall any of Moyes’ Everton teams being on the side of 8-0 and 9-1 hidings or being dropped, fighting relegation every year either.

Actually, Roberto Martinez is qualified if people like A. Valle Boas managed both Chelsea and Tottenham, not doing too well in those jobs.
In fact, I’d take it easy on Moyes, I was think of AVB at those two clubs, Allardyce at Newcastle.
Coaching is difficult, I think 8 PL Gaffers have been let go this year.
And Hodgson at Liverpool and that’s just over the past few years in the PL.
