A 24-year-old Homosassa man was charged Thursday with suffocating his 1-year-old son because he wanted to have time to play video games, the Citrus County Sheriffs Office said.
Cody Wygant was charged with third-degree murder and willful child neglect, the sheriffs office said.
Wygant was being held in the Citrus County Jail.
A judge on Friday set bail for Wygant at $100,000 with his next court date scheduled for May 23.
Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to Wygants home after receiving an emergency call at 8:21 a.m. Thursday that the child, Daymeon Wygant, wasnt breathing.
Daymeon was transported to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the sheriffs office said.
During an interview with investigators, Wygant confessed that he suffocated his son to be able to play video games, the sheriffs office said.

This male animal is most definitely not a man.
You are correct. I apologize.
Some girl who’s as white trashy as he is.All those People of Walmart women have to go home somewhere.
Darwin Award honorable mention. (He had a daughter as well.)
The Video games are not the problem.
THIS is the problem:
“Wygant was born and raised in California, where he has an extensive criminal record that includes trespassing and rape, the sheriffs office said.”
Yet he is breeding and watching young children. Only bright side to this, they took another very young (3 month) child away. Hope they never get her back, but you never know.
He is a folkhead and I hope he burns in hell
Is that eyeliner?
3rd degree murder is Fla is punishable by 10-15 yrs (max) prison. He will be free while in his mid-30’s.
Dear God. What a sick excuse for a human being to do this to a child. May he RIP.
Not necessarily. She was impregnated...there is such a thing as artificial insemination.
They seem to affect people differently. I've tried a few times, but get bored after 5 minutes.
What concerns me is the "first person shooter" thing.
By 1946 the U.S. Army had completely accepted Marshall's World War II findings of a 15 to 20% firing rate among American riflemen, and the Human Resources Research Office of the US Army subsequently pioneered a revolution in combat training that replaced the old method of firing at bull's-eye targets with deeply ingrained operant conditioning using realistic, man-shaped pop-up targets that fall when hit.
Thank you. God bless.
