Stories are different this morning. 300 missing. Not good. May skeeter be correct.

I read in another report that said the boat was in 90 feet of water and there were divers on the scene so hopefully there are some big air pockets where many can survive until divers rescue them. It’s also possible that many made it to other boats in the area at the time and are just not officially saved yet.

I'm not sanguine about rescuing the circa 300 people still missing. Anyone who have read up on the sinking of the MS Herald of Free Enterprise in 1987 and MS Estonia in 1994 note that seagoing car ferries are EXTREMELY vulnerable to rapid sinking when compartment carrying vehicles start to flood rapidly. It appears that something went wrong and the vehicle compartment on this sea ferry started to take on water very fast, and that's why the boat capsized and sank so rapidly.

I looked at Yonhap (S Korean news), CNN, & BBC, and did not find any updates. It is 730am in Seoul, so maybe more will be learned now that it is daylight.

You are welcome It is very sad. I think what will happen is the death toll will rise dramatically soon. As it is, they say none dead, many missing right now.
