After listening to one of my favorite podcaster, Dan Carlin & his Hardcore History, about the beginning of World War I, I would love to find out more about this time in history.
I know that Freepers are a well read bunch and I am asking for any recommendations you may care to make in a good book covering this time in history.
oh yeah, and this one, which goes through the architectual work that pushed the entire world into WWII, and isn’t too much of a cheerleader for the imbecile Woodrow Wilson.
“Paris 1919: Six Months That Changed the World”

It’s pretty specific, but as a young man, I loved Eagles of the Black Cross - a book about the German pilots of WW1.
Shockingly, you’ll find the Richtofen was not the only German pilot of note.
I had a cousin who was one of 11 kids—9 boys and 2 girls. Both of his sisters died in the flu epidemic. He survived until 1990 and I heard the story from him in person.
Is that Michael Palin from Monty Python?
I guess I’ll have to watch and see for myself ;-)
Thank you
Thanks. I’m also interested in Wilson and his presidency and its effects.
