There is another way to look at this, though.
WE have awoken. I am frankly surprised by all the volunteers and protesters who flocked to Bundy’s aid. Some folks, a big group of bikers from Tennessee, are still on their way!
I think the gun grabbers started it, and the wake up call happened in Colorado with the recall elections, and then in Connecticut with people NOT complying with their tyrannical decrees.
Now I’m hearing from people everywhere how pissed off they are at the FedGov sending 200 SWAT cladded agents to deal with ONE rancher.
People are angry, and it seems to me now is not the time to let up, but channel that anger into something substantial, like we demand the rollback of FedGov, the 10’s of thousands of arms carrying FedGov agents, the militarization of the police in this country, and the blatant political IRS abuses, and of course nobodies favorite, Obamacare. Let’s turn this protest spirit into political action.
I’m sincerely proud of our activist conservatives right now.
True, you can get a 1,000 to show up today. But maybe not Wednesday.
But your stand is a true one. We must stand up to the militarization of the federal government against its own citizens. We need to be ready to do that anywhere and we need to be connected.

Going this weekend and wearing the badge you made me 16 years ago
who could believe it?
Harry Reid’s former chief of staff is the head of BLM. Get the picture?
Wonderful after being away for the evening to come back,
not knowing but fearing a possible bloody outcome,
and to see instead this victory for the Bundys, America and Freedom.
As for the Bundy’s being a “side show”, I agree there too. This has certainly taken Lois Lerner, Elijah Cummings, Obamacare, illegal aliens, etc. off the front pages. Makes me wonder too what's coming down the road that we don't know about.
A point of interest to me was the way the BLM behaved. We have heard that Obama and his minions would ask prospective federal employees if they would be willing to shoot Americans (a “yes” replay was mandatory for employment). Well, we saw yesterday how that worked out. Not only were those on the ground willing to shoot Americans (thank goodness there were cameras there filming and lots of supporters), but I heard that there were even 200 sharp shooters aimed at them. Another point is at the beginning of his first term, Obama said he wanted HIS army and it be as well supplied as America's army. When the BLM left, there were over 80 brand new white vehicles for them to drive. As the reporter pointed out, the government could afford those, but couldn't afford to feed the “turtles” and just killed over 1,000 of them.
This may just be the spark that ignites a civil war, and we would play right into Obama’s hands.
It will be interesting to see how Reid talks his way out of this. Anyone with a shred of decency would resign his speakership and maybe even his seat in Congress, but we know Reid doesn't have any decency.
Reid is not speaker.
You’ve got that right, Jim. We do not surrender or retreat...we reload.
You need to pay better attention to the events. If this isn't big history for freedom loving Americans, in the face of ever growing government tyranny, nothing is.
Hey pal, at the time I posted that question, the event was ongoing and the outcome was not known. At that point, the patriots were telling the sheriff to tell the feds to bring their weapons and deliver them under the flagpole. That is why I asked the question.
It turned out to be a significant event when the feds retreated, but when I asked the question it was unclear.
Trying to call me uninformed is a low blow. I thought we were on the same side.
Not quite. Again, you were clearly not paying attention.
What was known is before that BLM/arms demand was even uttered, thousands were pouring into the area, many armed, including many armed militia members.
What was also known is most close to the events understood early on, this was going to result in an armed standoff which had the real possibility of resulting in an ugly violent shootout. This was inordinately clear based on the fact those opposing government in this event, including Cliven Bundy, repeatedly stated they would not back down.
Regarding the one demand of BLM to give up their weapons, I said at the time, right here on this site, "That's as likely to occur as Obama joining the NRA". Most understood that wouldn't happen.
The main overriding demand was his animals be returned to Bundy out of impound. Their demand time frame was not met, and they went and got them...The rest is on-going history.
It's why many said early on, this was a historic event and will be one among many more to come.
Not at all sure why you are bent on attacking me for a question I asked a week ago, but if it makes you feel better, have at it.
I say again: I thought we were on the same side.
Not attacking ... 352 was just trying to explain that early on it seemed pretty clear this was really going to really heat up.
In fact due to being pushed into a corner for years, Bundy and family made it clear they’d totally had enough. To be honest I expected it to end violently...When the oppressors rolled over, it was clear they too believed he and many others weren’t bluffing.
