What a maroon!
Anyone calling it the “Spring Bunny” should be tarred, feathered and run out of town.
It’s the “EASTER BUNNY”. End of discussion.
You’re correct. Easter isn’t a Christian holiday. Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ on that day. Others celebrate spring with fertility rites.
I remember when the renamed Christmas on the Prado, and replaced it with the name December Nights.
The official explanation was that they wanted to reflect the diversity of San Diego, and that activities took place all over Balboa Park, not just on the Prado area.
Anyone believe that explanation?
I have a stupid question: Why is it okay to delete the name of Christmas or Easter from seasonal festivals, in the name of diversity, but you have Gay Pride Parades, which are called Gay Pride Parades?
In order to truly celebrate diversity, shouldn’t the Gay Pride Parade be called something else? After all, most people are not gay, just as some people are not Christian, and/or just don’t celebrate Christian holidays. So, if we apply the same reasoning to Gay Pride parades, we would have to change the name of the Gay Pride parade to something else.
I don’t recall which year, but one year Michelle Obama’s “Easter Egg Hunt” at the White Hut was on the Monday AFTER Easter. April Fool’s Day no less.
The theme of the April 21 Easter Egg Roll on the White House Lawn is “Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape.” In support of the First Lady’s Let’s move initiative to help kids grown up healthy and have the opportunity to reach their full potential, the event will feature sports, storytelling, egg- rolling and cooking stations.
SPECIAL OFFER: This years special edition Bo and Sunny themed egg is included when you buy a commemorative set! The special edition egg is only available with the set!
They include the stamped signatures of the President and First Lady. You don’t have to attend the egg roll to get a commemorative Easter Egg. Order yours today.
Is he wearing a cross on his head?
April 21st is AFTER Easter again. Obamafail
Must have a golf round that day. Or a fundraiser.
And you are correct too.
Just as I have no conflict with celebrating the birth of Christ on December 25 AND enjoying the secular traditions of shopping and Santa Claus; I have no problems with the Easter Bunny on one hand and the resurrection of our Lord on the other.
Yes, I don’t have a problem with this, Easter bunny, or Spring bunny, both aren’t Christian.
Sand iego...
That’s an alternative spelling for the non Spanish speakers :)
secular humanism is the state run religion in this country and we have to expect them to have their holy days...
secular humanism does tend to ignore holy days and feasts detailed in Leviticus 23, though.
Easter came about all because of Jesus himself, so the rest who want to tag along can at least give credit where it’s due.
Better yet, people can repent and turn to Jesus and pray for the country to turn around, it’s the best option.
I wouldn’t know, I’m Christian, not catholic.
I do know that Jesus died on the cross and rose again 3 days later.
I’m no fan of Caliph Baraq, but the WH Easter Egg Roll has been held on the Monday AFTER Easter since 1878

“Easter” is named after an Anglo-Saxon goddess, so they can call it a spring bunny for all I care.
I celebrate the Lord’s Day until He comes, and that is each and every Sunday, which is the first day of the week.
Agree and thanks for the correction, “December Nights” as opposed to “Winter Nights.” Silly either way, and caused me to never want to patronize Balboa Park.
I like the idea of replacing “Gay Pride Parade” with the “Dead at the Median Age of 47 Because You Engage in Anal Sodomy Parade”
One of the suburbs in the Salt Lake Valley puts up signs every Easter advertizing a “flashlight hunt for teenagers.” I know what they mean, but I find the phrasing hilarious. It makes me think of spot-lighting deer.
