Bayern Munich advanced to the Champions League semifinals with a 3-1 win over Manchester United in a wild game at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

After a lackluster first half, the goals came one after another in the second half.

...Wayne Rooney was a non-factor, and clearly wasn't 100% healthy after sustaining an injury in last week's game

This is the last we'll see of Manchester United in the Champions League until at least 2015-16.

Does this mean their coach of less than a year will be fired?

He’s definitely riding the hot seat. But I would wager that Glazer will try to get him some players, first. Maybe one more year.

It was a night crying out for a Manchester United hero, someone to drag them out of their mire of mediocrity, an occasion for someone to pull them out of the long siege of Munich and produce something extraterrestrial in Bayern Munich’s spacecraft of a stadium.

They had been looking at Wayne Rooney to deliver perhaps the greatest performance of his United career, to conjure up one of those magical moments that might see their team land one of the greatest victories in the club’s long and distinguished European history. Alas, it was not to be.

Moyes hints at transfer agreements following Manchester United's Champions League elimination

Manchester United manager David Moyes has hinted that agreements are already in place to bring new players to Old Trafford.

Moyes denied his job was on the line after the Red Devils were knocked out the Champions League by Bayern Munich, and suggested he already knows that players will want to join the club even without top-level European football.

He may have signed a long term contract, but I was reading article a month or so ago, that he could be fired.

Personally, I think it would be stupid to fire a coach in such short order. There was bound to be a let down period after a quarter century coach leaves. (No expert on soccer, but I think this applies to all sports)

Interestingly Moyes was hyped early on as “The Chosen One”, chosen by the old manager to take the job.

I’m an Everton man and all I cared about was how Arsenal choked against them on the weekend. 4th place and they’re in.

I hate everyone. I taped the match and stayed away from all news so I wouldn’t see the scores and thought I’d check here and I could be safe....

one of the most disappointing nights in Wayne Rooney's long career so far

Wayne Rooney left to mourn crucial chance that got away

This is what Moyes needed. Someone to make a hero of himself, someone to write his name into the folklore and fabric of United’s great history.

Moyes has refused to put any blame on star Wayne Rooney after the striker missed opportunities

The only true constant in football is that rumours will fly and speculation runs rampant. Moyes, in a roundabout way, has now become the cat in Erwin Schrodinger’s theoretical experiment. No one really knows if Moyes managerial life at United is either alive or dead.
