Should The UN Be Moved To A Neutral Location? Out Of The U.S., But With One Caveat...

The U.S. has already signaled that Iran's UN envoy pick is a no-go - and for VERY good reason. At the same time we are being entangled in these disputes; we do so and are to some degree continuing this because the UN is on U.S. grounds.
The statement "get the U.S. out of the UN and the UN out of the U.S." has been oft-repeated...so here is a possible solution - with one caveat.
The UN is moved to neutral territory (if at all possible), so we don't have to shell out a significant chunk for its operating expenses.
As for the caveat: no nation has any say-so on any person that any country picks for its envoy to the UN.

My choice is Haiti.....
The UN folks should love it there...helping a poor country by bringing money there..etc, etc.

South Africa. Let them glory in the fruits of freedom from Apartheid.

The UN should be moved to Haiti.
That way they can live day-to-day with the consequences of their failures and the nation of Haiti can get some much needed cash...

Put the SOB’s on a cruise liner and have them sail the world. That way they are long gone can sail to be a close to the next ‘hot spot’ as possible.
Also NYC could really use a break from them.

That would be another good choice...............
Kick them out of here...and let them find another place to squat.

What did Canada ever do to you? Nothing. I was simply providing the Canadians with a passive aggressive means of poking the Danes in the eye:
Hans Island? You mean the place we gave to the UN for their new headquarters? Sure, we imagine you can press a claim with the General Assembly and we're sure they'll be very fair about it, too.

I'd vote for ceding the island of Shemya to the UN.
Let them set up shop on their very own island in the Aleutians.

Yes, the UN should vacate its NYC headquarters (that are decaying and have been for years because the UN officials have lined their own pockets with maintenance funds). In reality, the UN has FOUR up and functioning headquarters: 1) NYC, 2) Brussels, Belgium, 3) Geneva, Switzerland, and 4) Nairobi, Kenya. The UN diplomats love NYC because of all the shopping, cultural things, restaurants, and luxurious living (for them). I say throw the bums out — NOW!

Move it somewhere they have the problems they debate over and see what happens. Liberia, Uganda, Haiti or some other shithole. It would help their economies, get them out of our hair, and THEN we’d see how’d they like to help the world.

I think the best permanent location for the UN is Johnston Atoll.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnston_Atoll
It is an unincorporated territory of the United States currently administered by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) of the Department of the Interior as part of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument.
We have been wanting to dump the island for years, so it would make a great gift for the UN. No take-backs.
To: Dallas59
I agree it should be moved. What’s the name of that island in the Pacific that will be inundated in the future?
