Jay-Z is a joke - the guy's closing in on 50 and hasn't put out anything worth listening to since 2003's "The Black Album", which at the time was supposed to be his farewell as a performer. Despite the gushingly overdone campaign of people like Gwyneth Paltrow, Bono and our illustrious president to portray Jay-Z as a deep thinker, he's not bright enough or articulate enough for even the liberal press to buy it, and so he's forced to keep churning out music if he's to have any hope of being known as anything more than the elderly husband of Beyonce, his much younger and more successful wife.

The Five-Percenters thing is hilarious - it was an interesting side-note when rap was entering it's prime in the early '90s and the Wu-Tang clan rose to fame referring to themselves as gods and their women as earths, but now it's as silly as the expensive red sneakers and the ridiculous hubcap hanging around the neck of this wealthy, middle-aged man who hasn't figured out how to grow old gracefully.
