Just seeing articles like these that project to the public that trying to find the aircraft is fruitless.
Just take their word for it. Muslims wouldn’t lie now would they?

If I were an international business owner, NO WAY would I put any of my employees on any Malaysian flight. EVER.

Yeh...but they’re now saying they’re picking up a ping....but absolutely no sign of debris. They all know the currents...so if they get a ping, they could calc the path of the debris.

That would be my guess now, though I haven’t been following it closely. There are simply too many gaps in how this whole investigation has gone.
Although I did read some plane that went down , took 2 years to find the box.

So, what I said may not be the case here. I was referring to honest people following regulations. That may not be the case with Malaysian airlines!
My son in law works for a large, unionized outfit and I’m amazed (and the recipient) of some pretty neat, out-of-date ‘profit sharing’
Or a convenient excuse to trow people off their tracks ? as in ? government involvement and cover up ?
Batteries aren’t all the same. They figure out how far down the bell curve is safe. Do you pick a date where half the batteries would still be good as a replacement date? 90%? 99%? 99.99%?
Yet supposedly the Chinese have been hearing “Pings” From underwater so what are we supposed to believe
Yes, batteries are fickled things..
As opposed to the domestic carriers who charge you a fortune and treat you like cattle.

My thoughts. Who and what was on that aircraft that someone wanted it disappeared? Stolen Iranian passports, pictures that look photoshopped, crazy speculation. Incompetence, lack of cooperation and sensors not working.
And it’s just a coincidence that this plane vanished into the deepest reaches of the ocean in the worst weather possible.
Funny thing, there is only one country that can find this plane. And they aren’t working too hard at finding it.
Why?
The story contradicts the headline.
The batteries were due for replacement in June, BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE.
The aircraft disappeared in March, LONG BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE.
The headline should be changed, or the thread pulled.
The level of ignorance, stupidity and cluelessness in reporting information about the disappearance of and search for Flight MH370 is breathtaking.
There seems to be no understanding of the laws, rules, regulations and constant maintenance requirements international airlines are subject to.
Most motorists (99.999%) do NOT keep a detailed record of the maintenance of their vehicles. And there is no penalty attached for failure to do so. Yes even bad or failing brakes.
On the other hand, most airlines (99.999%) keep a detailed and complete record of every part replaced, and every maintenance check and process required by regulations and airworthiness directives. It is a constant, ongoing process. The penalties for failure to comply are swift, certain and severe. Often in the millions$.
Granted, there are State Airlines run by corrupt governments which cut corners and consider critical requirements as merely suggestions.
Hard to think that Malaysia might be one of those. But if it is, the fallout, from the international Airline Community and the flying public can (and should) result in severe financial penalties and even bankruptcy.
Who actually believes that airlines are not required to fuel aircraft only when they run out of gas?
Or to replace tires before they blow?
Or to replace emergency items like batteries before they expire?
So, what idiot would write a first sentence like that?
