RUSH COUNTY - There are new reports about what investigators are discovering as they search collection of historical artifacts so huge it fills a Rush County home and several outbuildings.
An organization representing Native Americans believe human remains are buried among thousands and thousands of artifacts collected by Donald Miller in the U.S. and around the world.
The FBI investigation and massive effort to recover thousands of invaluable artifacts is being watched by the American Indian Movement. Until recently, its local chairman lived only a half-hour away from the Rush County site.
"We are glad something like this has happened," said Albert Runningwolf, American Indian Movement.
Runningwolf says his organization has been aware of Miller for years. It suspects his collection of artifacts from Native American tribes and other cultures from around the world include ceremonial treasures and human remains.

These morons have NO clim to any thing. They can’t prove ownership or relationship to bones or artifacts. The FBI is a disgrace. There is NO freedom in this country any more. If you ever stumble across any gold, silver or artifacts of any kind, TELL NO ONE AND SELL THEM ON THE BLACK MARKET. The Leftists will only steal it from you and blow the money out Obama’s black ass!
“Oh”, said the Indian activists and their peacenik allies.
The highway rests today on formerly sacred nothings.
This FBI art SWAT team should be checking out H!’s houses (and Wild Bill’s double-wide in Little Rock) for all of the stolen gov’t artifacts.
an update for ya.
They don’t “believe” a damn thing!
They have no reason to jump to that conclusion.
This is a standard tactic to gain access to EVERYTHING the guy collected.
We’ve seen this tactic before with “Kennewick Man” and with fake burial grounds in California.
This guy was trying so hard to keep those illegal artifacts hidden that he was letting school and scout groups tour his home.
Thanks for links. I posted on one of them earlier today:
Thousands Of Artifacts Seized At 91-Year-Old Indiana Man’s Home

OK, a little further research suggests that the 91-year-old perp may be harboring some Indian artifacts/bones. They are pretty much on the warpath about getting their ancestors stuff back from collectors and even museums. Even if the items were purchased legally, the Indians believe they still belong to them. The FBI Art Crimes Unit is examining everything

AND a great video here shows part of collections: http://wishtv.com/2014/04/02/home-video-shows-artifacts-in-rush-county-home/
Over the last several months, an FBI investigation has determined that Mr. Miller may have knowingly and unknowingly collected artifacts, relics and objects of cultural patrimony in violation of several treaties federal and state statutes, said FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Jones .some statutes and laws put into place in the last several decades may not have been in effect when Miller collected some of the items.
Don’t need evidence, apparently when it’s Indian tribal stuff they are after. Running casinos has apparently given Indians enough money and political clout to push the gubmint around, at least during Big Chief Obama’s reign.
And as for the American Indian Movement, bah humbug. The gubmint does have an eye on them. Friend who is 1/4 Indian was asked to join, he said NO because he didn’t want to be stripped searched at every airport in the US.
Why does the article say “Native American” when the group in question is:
“We are glad something like this has happened,” said Albert Runningwolf, American Indian Movement.
Want to find Indian artifacts, look under Wrigley Field. The presents of an Indian burial ground located beneath the stadium (built in 1914) is the only plausible reason the Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908.
A Ming vase was described as “questionable”.
GIve me a fucking break. There is nothing questionable about a Ming vase. It is what it is and has never been covered by any US law if it was obtained legally inside the country, or even outside the country (unless it was a known stolen item via robbery or fraudulent acquistions).
I’ve seen things in flea markets that were hundreds of years old which today someone could claim as “questionable”.
While I surprise laws that preserve endangered animals, esp. birds hunted for their feathers, items made long before these laws existed should be exempt and their owners not treated as “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
The FBI gets stupider and stupider every day, or is it just their addled-brained spokesmen.
The FBI people I worked with in the past are pissing in their graves the way the Bureau has been mishandled for the past few decades. It is now a PC-dominated organization of girlymen instead of the once premier investigative law enforcement agency in America, if not the world (I also like the old Scotland Yard and Israel’s Mossad).
I have a degree and experience in Archaeology and what the PC led govt agencies are doing today will destroy Archaeology as a science and probably put a number of archaeologists in jail for innocent activities.
Well, as Obama once said, “Yes we can”.
In a tyranny, most EVERYTHING is a felony, unless you work for the government.
Here's his Facebook page:
No way that boy's been running.
Good question. My friend the 1/4 Indian never uses the term, Native American. PCBS, I think.
Astonishing. I had no idea. I read an article years ago about artifacts returned by major museums to Egypt? Or Turkey? Anyway, the priceless museum pieces ended up in dusty little one-room "museums" in their native countries with zero security. So much for national pride.
the whole concept of Indian nations within this country should be immediately abolished....the "native Americans" should be mainlined and required to exist on their own as are all other Americans.
The Seminoles might argue that point. They never surrendered and never lost the war. A branch of the Creek tribe that settled in Florida, incorporated escaped slaves, and really POd Andrew Jackson. Heh, it’s a swamp and malaria thing.
“The boys ‘round here,”
Bring wood to start a fire that didn’t have to start!
We here on the RES have decided if Al Sharpton can do it so can we!
