> So what now? Do they make Safari or Opera for Wintel?

Safari for Windows is not great, but it mostly works. Opera is supposed to be great but it’s not my personal style. YMMV.

Is Scorch any good? What about Chrome? I know Chrome is a Google product.

Wow, I see what you mean about Opera. On a whim last night I followed another posters link and installed Opera. It looks like something my dad would have liked - stripped of everything except the absolute bare essentials.

Naturally the fist thing I want to do is import my extensive list of bookmarks. No joy. They have an import feature but it’s grayed out. I do a web search and discover that it is only for importing from an earlier version of Opera. The proposition of manually adding hundreds of bookmarks is more than daunting - it’s a showstopper.

The next thing is website passwords. It’s been so long since I logged into FreeRepublic that I couldn’t recall my password! Firefox is easy because I can look it up. I’m sure that I can export all of them but again, what a PITA.

Outside of that it seems straightforward enough.

Maybe next I’ll try Safari ;’)
