Again, how many times do you put up with this, and what would you do if corporate ignores you?

An hour? Two? However long he decided to stay, it was unacceptable for the employee to post a snotty message on the door for the public to see.
I already told you what I would do: I would call the manager’s manager, or the owner, after leaving multiple voicemails for the manager himself. I would try to rearrange my schedule to work the next shift. If I couldn’t rearrange my schedule, and there was a dire emergency, then I would reluctantly close the doors but under no circumstances would I have posted a notice like that on the door! The notice alone should be a firing offense.
