Not to defend her actions, but I imagine that this isnt the only house she had to deliver packages to. More like hundreds on a daily basis. Those few steps from her vehicle to the front door and back to her vehicle may be few for any house, but all those hundreds of houses put together adds up to thousands of steps and alot of energy.
Yeah, then get another job.

Perhaps it would have helped her shed a few pounds. In my younger days I read meters for a local utility. I got in and out of my pickup over 500 times in a week, sometimes almost a thousand depending on the routes that week. Once, the door fell off on the ground. (worn hinges) I picked it up and threw it in the back and continued on my way. LOL Other routes I would walk miles. In all kinds of weather you could think of. I was in the best shape of my life.
I used to help my past mailman deliver mail on the street even use the bar code scanner. But that’s in the city.
