Amazing clip from one of Robert Duvall's best performances.

(If you haven't seen the film, I suppose the clip contains a minor spoiler or two, though nothing to do with the ending or the like)
Love that movie!
Not like noah the lie.
haven’t seen Noah, but I’m taking the word of many FReepers including yourself not to waste the money.
There isn’t much entertainment value when for most movies I can see the propaganda, despise the actors, and refuse to part with $15 for both.
Wonderful movie. Rented it twice, and I’m a penny pincher.
Thanks for the post! It’s available on demand via netflix. Adding it to my queue now :)
One of the factors here is that American Christendom has, for the most part, ceded to the media virtually all influence.
The article Why Christians Should Create
puts it very well, better than I could.
But in any case, this idea is very strange when you consider that artists are very God-like in that they create and God is The Creator
— i.e. being made in the image of God, it is natural that we too should be creative.
Awesome clip.
Robert Duvall was amazing in that movie. He should have won the Academy Award for which he was nominated for his performance in the film. But I guess Hollywood didn’t want any truck with this movie about a Christian in trouble.
Amen!!!
It is one of my favorites too...Duval is awesome....the apostle, the godfather, the great santini, The movie where he is the brother of James Earl Jones.....all great movies.
“Rise and shine splittails!”
“......I come from behind the moon,....Watch out...watch out.”
What bugs me is that I JUST saw that the film “Left Behind” (film version of the LaHaye/Jenkins book) is being rebooted and is coming out in October of this year. What REALLY bugs me is who they have to play the lead character.
“Capt. Rayford Steele” is going to be none other than Nicholas “Yippie-Ki-Yay, Mother******” Cage.
I give up.
That phrase was by Bruce Willis in the die hard films...not nick gage.
Also, “Open Range”
He won the Academy Award for an often overlooked film, “Tender Mercies.” If you have not seen it I recommend seeing it very much.
If you haven’t seen him in Tomorrow (1972), get your hands on it. Duvall has said on many occassions that it was one of his favorites.
He also did a pretty good job portraying Stalin.
