Newt has been on this for years. He wrote a forward section for Forsten’s book- One Second After.

This isn’t really new news in a way.

Within a year, nine out of 10 Americans could be dead.

Newt's a Christian who appears to be calculating in his own self effort here without godly counsel IMO. Highly unlikely that the tribulation will begin within the year. I could, but not likely IMO. I think there's still a harvest yet to be had before it all comes crashing down. And if that were true, Christians would be jettisoned out of here anyway before it all came down.

Occasionally, a politician is correct about science.

This is one of those very very very rare occasions.

Well at least if it happens ... I can forget about the electricity bill.

An apocalypse is a disclosure or revelation—not a disaster or catastrophe.

If Newt Gingrich thinks EMP is a major problem, he needs better advisors.
Generating a large EMP takes a +1MT warhead detonated 100 miles over its target.

First you need a +1MT warhead. Only 4, maybe 5 countries have the technology for 2 stage thermonuclear warheads.

Then you need a launch platform to place a 5000lb warhead 100 miles above the target. Same 4 countries.

After all that, you take out the power grid of something the size of Wisconsin...and the rest of the 49 states are really pissed off.
and know Exactly who launched the missile.

Launch Newt’s Ego into space and it will destroy any asteroid headed our way.

Newt Gingrich and other members of a high-profile coalition ...

So 20 years ago he sold out our sovereignty with NAFTA/GATT/WTO and today we're supposed to believe he's trying to save us an EMP attack. Did he meet these new buddies at a Council on Foreign Relations luncheon?

Seems to me that Nuclear plants need to be designed to handle a shutdown in the event of an EMP attack. They have backup generators and cooling systems. Wouldn’t this be as simple as making sure the backup generators and cooling pumps are protected by a Ferriday grid?

As far as the effects on the rest of the country, I think every city of 50,000 or more (715 cities) should prepare an emergency power supply location with electrical hookups to their grid. This site could accept one of the concrete encased mini-nuke plants being dropped into place. The idea being that power could be restored very quickly to large segments of the population.

And then vulnerable points in the grid simply need to be hardened against attack.

I figured this would be about the Ebola Virus. Current outbread is resulting in 90% mortality. I think I read that a case has been found in Canada, and there is no vaccine or known cure.

Newt is seeking new donors/employers/paid-speech-venues/contract-for-hire-foundations and ‘non-profits to keep his perennial “election campaign” (like Pat Buchanan) alive (paid for) without him taking or getting any real job.

The ‘grid’ industries and the tech backers of “smart grid” and their cronies in Washington D.C., looking for subsidies and tax breaks (to be given as part of new ‘regulations’ to “secure the grid”) make prime candidates for presently unemployed Newt to do their shilling for them in Washington D.C.
