That makes sense if the objects belong to the dog’s owner-a lot of dogs carry around something belonging to the owner that holds their scent when the owner is not home, and they even destroy it sometimes-like shoes-but they don’t swallow it. The only people I’ve known who owned dogs that literally ate clothing had retrievers of some kind as pets.

i do think there’s something about large breed dogs and eating nonfood things. my SIL’s good friend had to put their dog down [some sort of lab or golden] bc it kept eating ROCKS. no idea why. mine will eat plenty of gross stuff but it has to be edible. Jules more than Chan, she’s much more discriminating. Though she ate poop as a pup, but she must have grown out of it.
