Hedy Lamarr was a much better actress before the Hays Code. :-))

Piffle. She was a good actress who worked hard at it. She didn’t need to take her clothes off.
In the biography I read, it said that one entertainment publication in Austria said she was the most beautiful actress in Europe. She had quite a body of work, no pun intended.
