The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Good evening...when is it ever going to warm up?

A solid lineup tonight...not sure I’ve heard of My Friend Irma before...with an Escape and Lux with William Holden.

What’s new?

Hi, Vision,

I think I remember Ed playing “My Friend Irma” before, but it’s a fuzzy memory.

Spring is slow to get where you are. Is it at least dry for now? It’s perfect here today, but a cold front is on the way, not nearly as cold as where you are, though.

Hi Gina, this weekend was dry and yesterday was beautiful, but now the temp will drop again for the week. Was talking to the local radio garden show host and he says everything is behind a month.

Did some nice burgers today but no major cooks happened. Did lots of yard work.

I’ve got lots going on, am about to start a new job and next Sunday will be in Dallas. Are you able to post the thread?

Sure, Vision! Just remind me, and I’ll post it.

Not much news here, just a very busy work week. We’re trying to get a bunch of jobs wrapped up before March 31 when Keith starts a new job.

Are you saying you have a brand new job, or just a new one that’s part of your same company?

We’re going to slow smoke some baby back ribs...

It’s a new job. Can’t wait for this to start. What’s Keith up to?

I hope you love it, Vision!

Keith’s new job is in bio-med tech. It’s good, because the sun and hard outdoor work are wearing him out.

The pits! I just had to run to grocery store, because I opened the package of baby back ribs I bought today at Walmart, and they were slimy and smelled bad! The expiration date is not till March 27th. So, I went to a nearby store and bought some more! I’ll be taking the others back to Walmart tomorrow. Gads!
