Talk about a box office diversion.
Shailene Woodleys Divergent might be the No. 1 film in America but faith-based audiences are once again proving to be anything but conservative at the U.S. box office.
Christian drama Gods Not Dead, opening in fewer than 800 theaters, is on track for an impressive $8.2 million this weekend. Thats a per-screen average of over $10,400 from 782 locations.

Going to see it tomorrow!
Let me know if you like it! :-)
I heard a radio ad for this (I think), it’s got some pretty good people in it, not that I remember who, but I remember thinking that when I heard it.
And no, they’ll never get that clue, even if we gave them a dollar. good, more money for somebody else.
Hollywood doesn’t care about religion. Hollywood doesn’t “not” care about religion. Hollywood (which is very different from it’s stars) cares about one thing ... money. If they think they can make money on it, they will make it. This is not too bad for a little Indie movie and, indeed, Hollywood is making more religious movies. But you want them to make more? Put the a$$es in the seats and you’ll get it.
Gonna see if I can find a theater playing it.

The only “God” Hollywood serves is money.
Saw it today. Highly recommended.
Sounds like a great movie, heard some excerpts, great concept, the creators of the movie were on their toes to produce such a movie.
I heard it’s about a College Professor, typical Leftwing Liberal type that tells the class to make a project over the title “God is Dead” and one of the students disagrees and says he’s a Christian.
Saw it ....GREAT movie. Very good apologetics material in there,,,
Hollyweird makes it’s version of Biblical films which has little to do with the Bible and God’s truth.
I wouldn’t even be convinced this is a conventional Hollywood movie now since others are making such movies as is the case with the movies “Courageous”, “Facing the Giants” and “October Baby”, just because it’s a movie doesn’t mean it’s from Hollywood as the above mentioned movies were not.
Thanks! :-)
Website in Post 11 with a trailer at the website.
Very cool, its at my local theatre! Gonna see it tomorrow.
Unfortunately I have to wait for the DVD. I’m glad that it’s a good movie and you liked it.
Hmmn, I wasn't aware Houston and Louisiana were Hollywood.
The film was shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from October to November 2012. Look like independent filmmakers folks.
