Guess we can't call it the Duke Invitational anymore ...
Mine isn’t there yet but it will be with another upset.
It’s gotta be more than that.
The Midwest bracket just blew up for sure.
Guess Buffett gets to keep his billons.
Warren Buffet just breathed a deep sigh.
The one-and-dones have got to go. They are ruining the big schools. They pick the big schools for one season's national exposure before they are eligible for the NBA Draft. The big schools can't build a powerhouse team over 3-4 years.
The small schools keep their players and nuture them. Witness NDSU, Dayton, and Mercer. They said during the game that Mercer was senior-laden and they had played over 100 games together.
more like 75%
Normally a team has to be eight points better than Duke to play even with them, thanks to the refs. In case anyone guessed, I’m no fan of Duke. In fact, Duke makes me puke.
Today is a good day.
NC State sucked from the line last night..
I’ve lost on the upsets. 3 yesterday and nw duke.
Applying to buffet for a personal loan
No idea. Buckeyes had that problem too.
80% of the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge were out in the first game, when Dayton beat OSU.
95% were out by the end of the night.
100% gotta be out by now ...
Part of it is that the women’s ball is quite a bit smaller and the hoop is the same size. The other part is that women players work on it more.
Boys only want to dunk or shoot 3s. They don't work on anything else. Girls, in my opinion, work more on fundamentals.
Normally I’m not that into the NCAA tourney but I’m getting lots of lolz out of all the bracket busting going on right now, especially in light of that 1 billion dollar challenge. Think they said 90% of the 11 million brackets were busted in the first day.
My Pack played 5 games in 8 days. They were tired. Free throws start with good legs.
I hate they lost, but it was a good season with lots of hope for the future.
Agree, the big schools get the breaks. Duke got 4-5 today, including a huge one at theend of the game. When Duke made the stael at the end of the game, the announcer said their could have been a Mercer foul when Duke kicked the ball out of bounds. No mention about the Mercer player getting mauled in the effort to get the steal.
I still remember the year Gonzaga played UConn in the elite eight. Gonzaga got hosed on 3-4 at the end of the game, and would have won by 6-8 points if they hadn’t got screwed. UConn went on to win the national title, but they didn’t earn it.
I do think the refs are doinga better job at being fair to the lesser known programs.
On the Today Show, the business person had contacted Quicken Loans/Warren Buffet for confirmation.
80% out of the Challenge after Dayton. 95% out by the end of the night.
The other thing to notice about the big schools getting a break; look at where they “slotted” the most recent growth in play-in games. It’s not for the 16 seeds; they are slotted at the 12 seeds. The reason is that you always get a 12/5 upset, and a big conference team goes down to a mid major. The big conference teams don’t like that, so they make the mid-major play an early game to deprive them of the upset possibility. It doesn’t always work out that way (we had majors in the play-in game this year) but my tinfoil hat tells me that was the intent.
One Warren Buffett can now still ensure there’s still US$1 billion in his bank account. :-)
My daughter was an all conference player in HS. Free throws matter in the boys game but it REALLY matters in girls...seemed like for both teams a majority of the trips done the floor ended in a foul, held ball, or turnover.
