Regret. Pain. Ageism. Getting old isn't easy. But what's more tragic is when seniors can't frequent their local early bird eatery without fear for their personal safety. Take for example an incident that occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Golden Corral in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Because that's when police say a 64-year-old woman instigated a food fight that left two other seniors injured, and potentially robbed of the ability to enjoy future hot buffets without looking over their shoulders.
Here's how it went down according to police.
One of the alleged victims, Linwood Moore, claims the suspect, Polly Richards, intentionally bumped into him at the salad bar. Already things were getting hardcore.

Notice all involved are baby boomers - specifically the hippie-prone.
Amazing they’ve even gotten this old. After my parents’ generation sadly passes en mass, I won’t be looking at the “old” or “elderly” the same way.
A recent experience with my now passed away father in law proved to me that we only see what we want. He was in an assisted living home and was totally unhappy about it. Every time I would go see him he would complain about them all being crazy. He had dementia and couldn’t remember his name half the time. lol
Only two of the three were boomers, it started when the non-boomer skipped ahead in line according to the employees.
But it is interesting that someone can make so much out of so little, as to try to create a generations myth out of it.
A shoving match involving three people in their 60s, who live together, and you trace it to their birth in the 1940s and 50s?
They don’t live together, I was thinking old folks home when I said that.
The man was 69. Only within a hair of “official” boomer status. What concerns me of boomers are the hippies that came out of it on the early end, not the latter end. The early part which in truth overlaps with “official” VERY LATE “silent” generation.
Hey, I just couldn’t help noticing. It really is going to color my view of elderly in the next few years, knowing we are getting hippies into elder status, before I reach it myself.
And it gives a different perspective, rather than the usual racial comments.
Yes, vile weed.
I was actually hoping someone would post the Elaine segment with the old man after the “yankee bean” post.
The guy is a different generation, you were totally wrong in your post, and he started it.
It was just a shoving match between 3 people somewhere in America, and you are going to work this hard and make up stuff to label them as “hippies” and go off on the 1960s?
You are one strange guy.
No, you seem to show up anywhere any slight against Boomers appears. Even without the “Gen X ping” list. Maybe it’s just you saw the latest stuff as I did, but it seems as if you search on “hippie” or something to show up at every such thread that even mentions them or boomers generally.
“Totally wrong” - 1944 at earliest is just 2 years away from “official” generations. So what?
BTW, I am a woman.
And it is YOU who is taking this so seriously and working so hard to show up at every thread defending “boomers”. 1 off-hand remark and you flip out.
They’re a feisty group.
LOL, no, when people correct some inaccuracy that you post, it isn’t some sort of conspiracy, and it shouldn’t trigger your paranoia when others read threads that you also read, it is pretty much what we do here, read the threads.
You described a member of one generation as a member of a different generation, why you would lie, I don’t know, but it seems like you wanted to make some bizarre point and so it was important for you to make up the big fact, for instance changing the generation of the guy who started it.
You are so serious about it, that you are STILL fighting the correction and getting angry it seems, that pretty much proves the intent to lie.
"Hire this man!"
You may be right, these folks sound like “half backs”: Northeastern retirees that moved to Florida, then moved halfway back, ending up in the Carolinas.
