Jennifer Lawrence got an Oscar nod for her acting chops in "American Hustle," but it's her crazy dancing and lip-syncing skills in a deleted scene that really deserve the academy's highest honor.
A captivating 4-minute outtake from the movie shows Lawrence, 23, as the cynical Roselyn Rosenfeld, vacuuming her living room while dancing and mouthing the words to Santana's 1969 song "Evil Ways."
The three-time Oscar nominee whips her hair back and forth, rolls the vacuum cleaner around, flails her arms, and even gets down on all fours while singing about how her "house is dark and her pots are cold."
Lawrence lost the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her "Hustle" role to "12 Years A Slave" star Lupita Nyong'o.
American Hustle is now available on DVD.
That scene reminds me of my childhood a bit!
We had an almost identical upright vac, and when I was a kid, I used to use it as my “microphone” when I was lip syncing and dancing around the living room :)

At least that dress shows us the truth. Half the time she’s wearing something that really bounds those puppies down.
WANT.
Now, that’s a far better three seconds of wobbling charmingly on heels than the entire cut Santana scene, lol.
You’re all welcome.
Sometimes I really enjoy the effects of gravity.
Just saw #20 .. yer forgiven .. lol !
Love Jennifer Lawrence and Carlos Santana. (That scene didn’t do much for me.)
This is a good clip
I was going to, but you beat me to it. She is an excellent actress.
I’m all for giving the kid the oscar for sitting through all that with a stone-face.
That was lame. No wonder it was cut. And no one had hair like that then.
I don’t really care about celebutards and do not understand the fascination with the vile low-lifes
And she has a butt plug collection she has mentioned on TV
Odd that you’d recall that, given your stated disdain for celebutards, lol.
Right on. When i was that age I would have done the same thing as that kid but when Dad came home I would have told him that mom had flipped her lid.
the butt plug collection was a gag gift from friends.
And she was proud enough to mention it on TV for all the impressionable young fans - the point
I saw it in the theater. Probably one of the best movies in a decade, maybe more. It’ll be a classic. Lawrence and Bale were amazing, but so was Cooper, even though he overacted quite a bit. He was always on 11, when 4 or 7 would have worked.
The story is excellent, and everything you needed to see what was coming was provided, and yet you were as shocked as everyone when it was over.
Great movie. This is the first time I’ve seen her in a feature film. I won’t watch Hunger Games. It is so close to what could happen here that it is palpable.
I could make a case that we are already there. Anyone who’s applied for a scholarship for their kid could relate.
