So there’s a huge solid wall out in the ocean for a plane to obliterate on? Who knew?

So theres a huge solid wall out in the ocean for a plane to obliterate on?At 500 knots the surface of the ocean will play the part of the wall quite nicely.

Water is a relatively incompressible fluid, speaking as someone with not a little fluid mechanics training. An object hitting an incompressible fluid at serious speed might as well be hitting a solid wall.
