The meaning of life for you is going to depend upon what God’s will has in store for you.
It’s not an easy question, and God knew it wasn’t going to be an easy question.
It’s easy to walk with God, hear His teachings from His own mouth through Jesus, and do what He asks. There’s no ambiguity.
What is hard is praying for ears to hear His will, the wisdom to understand it, and the courage to carry it out.
As such, for you, I pray that the Holy Spirit intervenes for you and dumbs it down for you like you were a 4-year old. That is certainly what I ask for, and you aren’t asking for anything Jesus didn’t say wasn’t going to work.
He said that unless you make your hearts like that of a child . . . .(paraphrasing).
We’re sheep. We believe but we are scared. He knows that.
Perfectly legitimate question.
If your day isn’t going well, then go out of your way to help someone else for a change of pace. Go volunteer at a men’s shelter, or something that takes the emphasis off of you and onto someone else.
As soon as you look at someone else and think, “What’s God’s role for that guy?” as you are ladling out soup to him, it all of a sudden hits you that, for today, your meaning was to help that poor guy get ready to fulfill HIS meaning in life.
God bless you for asking the question. God loves you, knows you personally, and has a unique and critical need for you in His creation. It took courage to ask the question, and it is worth asking every day.
Question authority, by all means. God can take the scrutiny when everyone else cannot.
I pray that God would reveal his plan for my life. Right now it’s a shambles. Wife left, only child (adopted) living with her natural mother, attorney lost his license to practice law, and about tapped me out monetarily.
Life is my work, work is my life. God doesn’t seem to listen, and nothing else seems to matter.
