The family of a 16-year-old Corona girl is looking to the public for help in identifying a group of girls that attacked her in while walking home from school Thursday afternoon.
Faith Edwards, a student at Lee V. Pollard High School, was walking through Santana Park between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon when she was attacked from behind by a group of unknown girls.
During the assault, the girls held Faiths arms and head and began violently beating her before realizing the girl they were attacking was not their intended target. According to the victims mom, Krista Edwards, one of the girls yelled out, Thats not her, thats not her! before the beating subsided. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
As a result of the attack, Faith suffered a broken nose with multiple fractures, which will require corrective surgery. In addition to the fractures she suffered a concussion, scalp swelling, a gash on her face requiring stitches, a perforated ear drum and suffered significant swelling and bruising to her face and body.
Due to the nature of the attack, the victim has had a hard time identifying her attackers. She was left bloodied, beaten and unconscious at the scene of the attack and had limited visibility during the beating. At this point all that is known is that she was attacked by three or four girls and they appeared to be older than the victim. One is believed to have been a Hispanic female around 510″ and 250 lbs. but aside from that not much more is known.

Can your family afford a private investigator?
After she recovers perhaps lessons in self defense.
Don’t give up contacting the police, weekly, every other day. Make them not forget this attack.
Piss-assed story. I’d really like to know what state Corona is in. Lazy writer and editors.
As for the mob attack, well, that’s the new “norm”.
Corona CA
5’10” 250 lb?
Ought to make identifying one of the assailants pretty easy; could probably eliminate most of the football team.
Teenage girls are getting as bad as the guys.
In California, they’ve been that bad for 40+ years.
Corona’s the next town west from Riverside. I worked there for a few months back in ‘05/’06.
Beautiful girl. Hope she fully recovers. I hope they come down hard on the attackers. This is aggravated assault / attempted murder.
Prayers for your Grand Niece, antceecee. Sounds like she is going to have a rough road till she fully recovers physically. Mentally... I can only imagine she will have some issues because of the brutality. I hope LE finds the animals who did this to her and before they have the opportunity to do it again.
The root cause of what is going on is that evil is loose in the world. The other things you mention are symptoms of the disease. IMHO.
I taught for many years in an inner city high school. I'd usually take a chance and try to break up a fight between two boys. But I'd always wait for help if it were two girls fighting.
The girls ALWAYS fought fiercely, in an all-out attempt to do as much damage as possible. Blood on the floor type stuff. The guys not so much.
And I have a theory as to why that was so. The girls usually fought over a boy. The girls wanted to put a complete stop to any encroachment. The boys usually fought over some slight. The boys only needed to show that they were willing to push back. No need to cripple the enemy (and risk being crippled yourself).
I have a pretty nice about a year younger than this young lady. She has been subjected to jealousy driven verbal abuse. I offer my condolences and prayers. Keep the public awarness campaign going.
Wow...prayers for your grandniece. May I suggest that the parents look into homeschooling her when she recovers. Lots of great programs online and she can study in peace.
The writer is part time and writes online news for the community. I thanked him for jumping right on this and publishing the story. I have to disagree with you. Because of this writer there are people stepping forward as witnesses. Still we need to wait and see if police will arrest anyone.
Thank you!
Thank you!
