That is funny - I didn’t connect the “ban bossy” as possibly being a pro-hillary move. lol
I’m just as rebellious about speech as anything else, I guess-because I’m going to keep on saying bossy when I mean bossy and homosexual when someone obviously is...
Bsically the insurance companies have been forced to make all policies equal - all policies now cover maternity and pediatric dental. Even if you are a single male with no children - your policy covers maternity and pediatric dental.
It doesn't matter if you go to the gov site to purchase individual coverage, or go directly to Blue Cross or Aetna - you are still getting the same four plans offered to you (bronze, silver, gold, or platinum). You may not want to call it obamacare, but it is ALL obamacare.
So - you EITHER have a group plan or you are on obamacare.
Now - your group plan often does not have a deductible. You have a low copay for office visits and it pays for tests and drugs. The non-group plans have a HUGE deductible. The Bronze plan has a $6000 deductible. It covers a few office visits per year at $45 co pay and might cover some drugs, but not all. Most expenses go to your deductible first.
In order to pay for all the pre-existing conditions and pediatric dental on the individual plans, your group plans are going to skyrocket. And I just heard a few minutes ago that some group plans, in order to contain costs, are going to begin imposing a deductible too.
Eventually group plans are going to become so expensive that they will all reach that "cadillac" level and be taxed so companies will have to drop them. We will all be on the bronze/silver/gold/platinum plans eventually.
I like the word bossy - it is so much better than saying "evil bitch" or "frigid old witch" - both of which apply to many of the feminists whining about the word bossy.
The owner is open for business in his shop up front-the guy whose truck he is working on right now has a beautiful brindle Bullmastiff with him-I kept Husky girl on leash, at a safe distance from that also-leashed dog when I took her out just now, and after I brought her back in, I went back up there to see the dog-the owner says he is 10 months old-he is only half grown, and is taller, and as heavy as Husky girl, who is a large Siberian Husky.
He is just as friendly as every other Mastiff breed dog I’ve met that is with its owner-different story when they are on their own turf...
Anyway, I don't really have much of a larger point here, other than that the wall between my writing life and my conversational life is pretty low. Obviously there are some things I don't share in print (or in my interpretative-dance shows). And there are some things I write about that I rarely talk about ("immanentizing the eschaton" rarely comes up at my daughter's basketball games). But if I have a good insight or what I think is a good insight (often a huge distinction) I'll probably write about it. And, if it seems appropriate in conversation or dance I'll bring it up there as well. I guess the reason the whole thing stuck in my mind is that it was a reminder of how weird my life is. If you're a plumber it's fairly unlikely that someone will say, "Wait, a minute didn't you snake a toilet just like this at work?" And if they did, it would be the questioner who would feel weird.
sounds very cool!
I heard yesterday about the sky-high deductibles getting more so, but most people do not do what you or I do for a living, and so are not required to know what is in a policy-in fact, I’d venture to say they probably haven’t even read their auto policy. One size does not fit all, and never will...
It won’t get that far because they failed to be subtle. They didn’t want to try to sell higher taxes, so they instead use the insurance companies as proxies to raise revenue that they can use to “spread around.”
The people being asked to pay for all of this know, or will know, that they are paying more so that someone else can pay less (or nothing). That’s not popular.
it’s a free for all.
ooo baby
“they are paying more so that someone else can pay less (or nothing)”
That is becoming evident, at least where I am-my customers are already calling our representatives at the state and national level-I’ve given Ted Cruz’s website to several in the last few days. If that is going on elsewhere, it tells me people are pissed at being fooled again.
Now I’ve got a Who earworm...
What Who? Neo’s giving out Nugent ones.
“God’s will be done”....words to live by. I sense God will not be happy with PopeFr when push comes to shove as the sinners line up claiming his blessings. Wonder how long we will suffer him?
He is rather old.
Just saying.
It should likely be a short pontificate.
well the end times eschatology has a bad pope at the end, i am hoping it’s not Francis. But he may be paving the way for that one.
Oooh, that IS funny!
I keep expecting to hear that PopeBen is failing. No such word as yet to my knowledge.
