The teenage girls in the Duggar family arent just waiting for marriage to have sex, theyve vowed not to have their first kisses until their wedding days.
In their new book, Growing Up Duggar, Jill, Jessa, Jana and Jinger Duggar, of TLCs 19 Kids and Counting, divulge their rules of courtship, and what its like being from such a large family.
The message that we are really trying to relay is just to give girlswhich is our main audiencejust the tips and the things that weve learned through life and what our parents have raised us just believing, Jana told Fox News.
And that means very little physical contact with a significant other until marriage.
I think were saving like hand holding and that stuff more for engagement and were saving our first kiss for our wedding day, Jessa explained.

I remember The Groucho Marx Show in the 1950s when he had a contestant on who had an enormous number of children. What Groucho said is not suitable for mixed company but it was hilarious. It had to do with the cessation of a certain act by the man compared to Groucho’s love of his cigars, and vividly stated.
“you cannot buy favor with God with strict adherence to doctrines and modalities of living. You cannot behave yourself holy.”
You make good points. Every one of us humans are rotten and deserve death. Only by accepting Christs immense sacrifice do we dodge going to hell.
Not kissing or holding hands doesn’t make us anymore holy or deserving of heaven than anyone one else.
But choosing to be moral is a good thing
A 2 yr engagement isn’t quick. And seriously - why is his kissing experience any of your business? Were I the future wife, that wouldn’t bode well. IMHO
Congratulations! Sounds like you’ve been a great mom! : )
Dated for 2 years - just got engaged a month ago.
I know about the kissing part because he told me.
Sometimes I post the innocuous things and I get the absolute nasty responses from the mostly good people here.
Well, there's this "Christianity" that everyone argues about, and then there's Jesus saying very plainly that "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments the whole law hangs, and the prophets."
So I figure I'll just do what Jesus said, very directly, to do, and let the Christians fight out their gen-u-ine certifications among themselves.
Now I'm going to sit back and watch the flames.
I don’t think you’re alone in that thought.
Sorry that was so huge. I need to learn how to resize pictures.
Wow. Just.....wow.
I’ve kissed, hugged and held hands and I haven’t turned into a sexually promiscuous trollop.
I’ve never needed a chaperone either nor did I need to be monitored 24/7/365.
This family is odd. I would not want to be controlled especially as an adult.
If we are rotten and deserve to burn in hell then why did G-d even put us here? Weren’t we created in His Image?
I’m glad I left Christianity and turned to Judaism. Christianity is fear-based and irrational. The G-d of Torah is much more forgiving and will not condemn anyone to hell.Judaism is not driven by fear nor are we taught that we are rotten and deserving of death and eternal hellfire.
I’ve watched it once or twice myself and I agree that the family is ‘off’. Michelle always sounds like a Kindergarten teacher. It’s like the viewers are made up of five and six year olds.
