The teenage girls in the Duggar family arent just waiting for marriage to have sex, theyve vowed not to have their first kisses until their wedding days.
In their new book, Growing Up Duggar, Jill, Jessa, Jana and Jinger Duggar, of TLCs 19 Kids and Counting, divulge their rules of courtship, and what its like being from such a large family.
The message that we are really trying to relay is just to give girlswhich is our main audiencejust the tips and the things that weve learned through life and what our parents have raised us just believing, Jana told Fox News.
And that means very little physical contact with a significant other until marriage.
I think were saving like hand holding and that stuff more for engagement and were saving our first kiss for our wedding day, Jessa explained.

prepare for a left wing assault!
Good.
For later
Reality tv is the BEST way to raise Christian kids.
Yeah? My kids are the same. It is amazing to see how propriety is treated these days. Doing the right thing is always harder, but always...the right thing.
This is unacceptable. How embarrassing for them to show up at their wedding without one abortion or STD.
Good for them
I estimated that if the Duggar kids keep up the reproductive pattern of their parents, as does the next generation and so on, they’ll have about one billion descendants in 300 years. The Democrats might want to think twice about that demographic permanent majority claim.
The key is for conservatives to pass down their values to their kids. Conservatives reproduce more, but the liberals have the cultural transmission vehicles (schools, entertainment, media) under control.
Jinger?
re: theyll have about one billion descendants in 300 years.
sounds good to me!
Given that they'd want to wait until Wedding Day just to kiss seems a bit much, especially considering that you'd be presumably going from first base to home run in a matter of hours. If it turns out well, that's fine. I just wouldn't want to take the risk.
Seems a stretch to me, but it’s their lives.
Kissing? It’s the restrictions on hand holding that seem especially ... odd.
Orthodox Jews have the same restrictions. “No touching”. They too have a ton of kids...on average 10 per couple. And they vote 68% Republican (2004 data).
I watched that show,....once. They all seemed a little off and the wife seemed a few watts short of a dim lightbulb. Can always tell by the affect and the eyes. But heck free to live you life as you want, kiss or no kiss. But one thing Duggars, one think you got to get...you cannot buy favor with God with strict adherence to doctrines and modalities of living. You cannot behave yourself holy. it’s what was done for you already not what you can do. So being super pious, ultra moral and using the words shucks and darn gets you no further in front of the line than a prostitute or penitent murderer or rapist. I know that irks some of you, but kinda the whole point of Christianity.
Great old fashion values the Duggans have. Wish more had them.
What you call risk, they call faith. What THEY call risk, is rejecting the faith!!!!!!!!
What do you spend 99% of your month doing? Kissing? Sex? Hand holding? Combined?
Kick the tires - talk and dream and laugh and WORK and just spend TIME together. Hotttttt!
Years ago I saw a TV show about a young Christian couple who were doing things the old-fashioned way. The young man asked the girl’s father for permission to court her. The couple was always chaperoned on their dates. The first time they kissed was at their wedding altar.
Of course, the TV show treated this like they were the biggest freaks ever born! The show followed up on them a year later. They were still together, had a newborn baby and were very happy. I wish I could remember their names. I think about them now and then and hope they’re still together and happy.
Son #3 got engaged January 24th. The wedding is going to be October 25th. He & his bride to be have dated for over 2 years. Son #3 is the asst. pastor at a non-denominational Christian church. He and his bride-to-be do not believe in sex outside of marriage.
That is why they’re getting married quickly ;-)
Seriously - I am so proud of my son to have such high ideals and to actually stick with them. They have kissed, but only closed lip kissing. Son #3 says anything else is for only after marriage.
