I don't think it's "nutcase" behavior to speculate even somewhat humorously when something unexplained happens. If nothing else, we have to wonder how in this day, with all of the surveillance and monitoring, a huge plane could just disappear for this long. A rule of creative thinking is that sometimes a good idea is some really crazy thought, twisted and turned a bit.
The longer it takes to find an answer, the more valid crazy speculation becomes....as plausible explanations are eliminated.
Good question. Facts: plane is missing, based on fuel capacity, it's no longer flying, at least two forged passports were used to board. That's the end of the fact list, so the rest is guesswork, speculation, probability.
The most likely explanation is that the aircraft experienced a catastrophic incident (mechanical or deliberate), crashed into the ocean. Some debris is floating and waits to be found, the bulk of the wreckage is on the ocean floor. Since it took five days to find the debris field of AF447, and several years to find the wreckage, I expect that we will not know much else for a week or more.
All the rest is complete nonsense.

About those cell phones. I hadn’t heard if that till you mentioned it. But I looked it up and it seems to have been verified. What is the answer to THAT puzzling question??
Momentary lapse of coverage is one thing. For them to take over and land somewhere I doubt there would be lack of radar all the way until they landed. I also didn’t think a pilot could turn off transponders. Doesn’t seem like a good idea to me to allow that.
You are right about your 'missile' comment. One track could be missile trajectory. I never thought about that as an explanation for the shifting route termination.
