What are your thoughts on the final episode? I found the manhunt through Carcosa to be over the top INTENSE!!! I couldn't even sit through it. I had to stand and pace a bit with a lot of fidgeting.
Also of great interest was Rust Kohle's new attitude when he had what could be called a near death experience and sensed the presence of his daughter.
OK, just “binged” on this show...and have NO IDEA what happened.
Will read this thread intently to find out if you guys figured it out and can explain it.
Really loved MMc in this though....
Well, I am slightly disappointed that they showed so many little pointers to the elder daughter being involved, but I think the episode was good, and I was really glad that they both walked away! I am not a Woody Harrellson fan, but he didn’t annoy me in this show.
I am confused. They showed the same episode from last week and said the next episode on the website is the final episode. What happened?
Huh? Were you watching it on HBO? I did read their were problems watching it online because of overload.
Who was the guy chained to the bed, and how did they figure out the clue about the green paint?
I thought HBO go showed it early in the morning and thereafter, after the show runs at 9 PM west coast.
Well, my spouse said and I quote, “THAT was better than The Shield!”
High praise indeed. Nothing has ever been “better than The Shield.”
How many episodes are there in total? The show has only gone to Episode 5 here in Indonesia.
Could someone please tell what the last line said by Rust was. I couldn’t understand him, even though I rewound it several times.
It was over-the-top intense all right! Also it creeped me out! I like the spiritual experience part. I’ve had lots of ‘em myself.
They guy on the bed was the father of the nutcase with scars on his face.
If they delete the expletives it’ll be only half as long.
True detective was a great show episode 1-7 (granted 7 lost a little steam) but as to the finale, All I can say is
ARRRRGH WTF?
Is there any way they could apologize for this terrible ending, take it back, and replace it with a good one?
‘cause this one friggen SUCKED!
I really liked the characters and their relationship of disliking each other but respecting each others abilities. But In the end it turned into “I love you man” buddy picture sillyness.
Also the killer had green paint on his head, that was the break in the case? seesh . lots on the web thought since he mowed lawns it was green earphones to deal with the noise. A far better explanation.
Also at the end of ep 7 we knew he was at least in on it. So why not embellish that some. Hmm but no, the writer just tells us more of what we already know.
Also So many unanswered questions—
Who were the other conspirators from the murder ritual video (they showed 5 in masks who the heck were they?)
Why did they make it look like Marty Hart’s daughter was abused by the cult (is it a cult now, or just one guy?) but never explained anything about it?
Why were two bodies displayed for the world to see but the rest were hidden away?
And what’s with all the carcosa, yellow king lore?
Granted they didn’t have to explain everything but they could have explained SOMETHING!
DIS-A-FRIGGING-POINTING
I feel like Obama wrote the ending
total and complete failure
Loved it, a good ending, not needlessly sad.
But, of course the very final line was almost unintelligible (like the final line of “The Name of the Rose” being in latin).
Can anyone say what he said?
Also, final song, anyone know what that was?
This was a great show, I’m seriously sad it is over.
I binged watched it last week, well I planned to but gave up after about three episodes. I heard it was compelling, but that is not the word I’d use to describe it. Snooze fest. Give me another House of Cards, Downton Abbey, The Americans, Mad Men....Everybody Loves Raymond....True Detectives? I
‘ll pass.
something like “maybe the light is winning over the black”...
guy chained to bed was the killer’s father.
green house? one of the kids who got away said the guy had green spaghetti face and green ears. Marty remembered a bright green house where they’d done some interrogations and tracked the lady down in the nursing home asking who painted the house.. she said the painter was very scarred...and they found the painter’s name thru business and tax info...voila! they found Childress the killer.
