I'm pretty sure the MFMP are getting one.

The nanor is extremely simple. If I knew how to do proper calorimetry, I would get one. Designing a control circuit is the trivial part. I just tried to find the place where you could order one and can't find it now although it has been only a month or two since I've seen it.

It was Cravens, a well known LENR researcher. It was deuterium, so it would have been a classic P&F type cell, to follow your designation.

Cravens is the correct guy. The link I just read is that the experiment was based on a Patterson cell.

There are a bunch of decent theories. There are a bunch of theories for High Temperature Superconductivity as well, and that field has had no shortage of funds thrown at it. It resemble LENR in several ways, starting with Condensed Matter physics. Also, there are a bunch of different theories about how gravity works, but none are generally accepted. There's a law of gravity, but no accepted theory of gravity.

Well, although you don't need an exact theory to produce a working device, it seems every device that produces anomalous heat fails to scale up and although I have no doubt that someone will crack that problem with enough experiments, a working theory would make scaling it up easier.

Right here in this article: Peter Hagelstein and Mitchell Swartz’s 2014 Cold Fusion Independent Activities Period (IAP) Course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in January. He notes that Cold Fusion is a career killer.

Is a LENR class part of the regular MIT syllabus??? Kind of funny that someone at MIT says cold fusion is a career killer considering that MIT tried to kill off P&F.

It isn't good for LENR. BLP's reputation is worse than Rossi's, it would seem.

That seems hard to believe but it is true and they've had over $60 million invested which is why it's hard to get excited about the VC firm that is pumping over $11 million into Rossi but it is good in that we will probably know sooner if there is something there unless the VC folks don't want to admit they were scammed if that is what eventually happens. We will see.

There's supposed to be some independent study coming out in April, but Rossi will be late as usual. This is a business now, so they'll need to do what it takes to generate ROI.

Well, he can't say he is lacking funds although I bet there's some hard core NDAs from both sides but again, BLP has received over $60 million in investments.

I haven't heard anything. They gave a demo last year, seeming to follow in Rossi's footsteps of not doing it right. My impression of Defkalion was that they basically stole Rossi's technology when they worked with him, and they know even less than he does about how it works.

It appears that Rossi let too much out of the bag or he scammed them and didn't show the real goods if they exist. I thought they had moved from Greece to the US?

If LENR breaks out, it will have a similar level of impact that gunpowder did. If it's "not real" or "can't be harnessed" then it is the most baffling scientific development since High Temperature Superconductivity.

I hope it's not like gun powder, the Chinese had gun powder for many centuries.

I thought that they had high temperature super conductors (high being relative) in use?

Has anyone tried to get the 1MW plant that Rossi is offering for free, all they have to do is pay for the energy used? He's offering a COP of 6 so it should be easy to tell if it is working. That would clear up whether Rossi has anything pretty quick but BLP had contracts with a couple power agencies in 2008 and never produced a drop of electricity although it probably helped to raise funds.

***Nope.

It appears that Rossi let too much out of the bag or he scammed them and didn’t show the real goods if they exist. I thought they had moved from Greece to the US?
***I thought they were in Canada. It doesn’t matter much. I think it was the case of Rossi letting too much out of the bag. He’s a murcurial personality and it’s a good bet that the Defkalion guys got sick of him & told themselves, “if this buffoon can generate excess heat then so can we”. But I doubt they started from scratch — they simply stole a device or 2 from Rossi before they split from him.

I thought that they had high temperature super conductors (high being relative) in use?
***They are, but they’re far from room temperature superconductors, there’s no theory to how they work, and we don’t really have them propping up Maglev trains or have them in our transmission lines everywhere, do we?

Has anyone tried to get the 1MW plant that Rossi is offering for free, all they have to do is pay for the energy used?
***That’s in Sweden. Turns out you have to live in Sweden in order to take delivery. http://www.e-catworld.com/2013/09/on-the-swedish-showcase-e-cat-plant/
