Are San Francisco straight men that hard up for a date that they need women to be flown in from elsewhere?
Apparently, according to one dating site: the Dating Ring. Currently still in the fundraising stage (Really, we're fundraising for dating sites now?), a post on SFGate notes "Love-lorn young ladies can reserve a spot on the trip by simply anteing up $1,000, which will net them a flight, housing, three dates and two parties."
Don't make us gag. Judging from the comments on our recent post disputing NerdWallet's findings that San Francisco is the best place to be a single, straight woman, we're in good company with our opinions about San Francisco's straight-dating scene -- or lack there of.
Who are these men they're flying women in for? And who are these women who are leaving NYC to find a date across the country?
One girl they interview says, "Dating in New York is the worst. I mean the number problems in New York is that all men are gay or awful."
Um, excuse us, but you do realize there are tons of gay men in San Francisco, right?
It doesn't matter anyway, as Less Than One points out, you'll likely still only find a handful of people attractive -- in any city you're in.
Anyway, good luck with those dates!
And even if there were, would any woman want to date it?
Washington D.C., the gay capital capital.
“men who make less than $300k a year.”
Is that gross or net?
“Dating in New York is the worst. I mean the number problems in New York is that all men are gay or awful.”
I’m guessing “awful” means they earn less than 300K a year.
Amen to that. When I went to school in No-Cal, I loved going to the clubs in Frisco. They were the easiest places in the world to meet single women. Much easier than meeting women in LA, which is itself not a hard place to meet women.
Wow, I posted my comment before I read yours. Great minds...
When I lived in SF (for 25 yrs.)I met women everywhere whose first question (sometimes even before my name)was, “Are you straight or gay?” When I answered “Straight” it was like shooting fish in a barrel. A straight guy in SF had it easy.
Just think of how much money the city can save by closing empty schools because the homosexual and lesbian couples are being ‘baby factories.’
“How many straight waiters in D.C. does it take to screw in a light bulb?”
Both of them.
Metrosexuals, gays, teenage boys, other "males," yes, as long as they will accept constant abuse, hypocrisy, cruely, sadism and nacissistic obsession on the part of the female.
Men, by definition, don't accept any of that.
The real truth of this story is that there are hardly any women in the SF Bay Area.
Just females.
So the question arises - female whats?
(Hint: If you aren't in a secret society, you literally don't exist).
This androgenous SF product has two mommies. SF needs the big earthquake....... bad
I knew a girl who was desperate for dates. Her Chinese doctor told her she had Ed Zackery disease...
LMAO! Hey you must have met the same girl I did. I moved out of NYC a year and half ago, best thing I ever did and I grew up there. Now I got no problem getting dates. It’s great not to hear “What do you do for a living” when you first say “Hi” to them. There’s no women in NYC. It’s little girls posing as adults, just absolute freakin’ brats, all of them and it seems I moved out just in time being that they got a hardcore blatant Marxist as Mayor now. And you know what’s going to happen? All those rich guys these girls go for are moving the hell out rather than have a Marxist steal all their money. Have fun girls, the only guys that’ll be around now will be those living off welfare! BWA HA HA HA HA! “What do you do for a living?” “NOTHING” BWA HA HA HA!
Wait straight males in San Fran? I guess he is really lonely being the only one!
Yea if you have ever met a bay area women you will know why bay area men are all gay
Yea if you have ever met a bay area women you will know why bay area men are all gay
Bay area women all have that “face like a clenched fist” feminism thing going on
Too many women spend their 20's chasing after "Prince Charming", not realizing that Prince Charming has lots of options, and can easily replace the current girlfriend when she makes too many annoying noises about commitment.
Then she hits her 30's, and starts looking through the nice guys she rejected in her 20's, looking for one who will still be interested in her high-mileage assets, but still being resentful that she had to "settle".
Portland? Maine or Connecticut or Oregon?
