What’s the projected cost impact of this? When I first read about it, I saw numbers like 60 cents per gallon. Recent articles indicate it would be pennies.

It’s difficult to say. I believe it all comes down to how quickly the refiners amortize the cost of the capital equipment needed to produce the low sulfur product.

60 cents / gal sounds way too high. The govt estimate of pennies / gal sounds low. I found some sources that estimated the diesel cost increase at 10 cents / gal but I don’t know how directly that would carry over to the gasoline process.
