I’ve been over there a bunch of times, and believe me, that neck of the woods, there’s way more of them than us!

But it was cute... poor little guy!

Last Spring, a deer gave birth on our property. I found this teeny tiny little baby right near the road. I moved it under a tree and called the Wildlife Rescue folks. They said the mother deer would more than likely come back for it. The kids and I kept watch all day making sure dogs etc.. didn’t come across the little thing. My husband teased me terribly because during the Winter.. I had put out corn for the deer. Where we live.. so much new construction.. there isn’t any place for them to go except the neighborhoods. Well, he said I had created my own “welfare state” for deer and here was the proof... a baby dropped off for me to take care of (he was teasing me horribly!) Mama deer did come back that night! They really are small when born (I had not seen them that young before). They are really cute, too!
