Well, we’re not going to hold the G8 conference in Sochi. That ought to send Putin scurrying back to the negotiating table. So long as the EU needs Russian energy (Germany worst of all), Putin has a winning hand diplomatically, and he already holds the winning hand militarily. 0bama and Kerry are in face-saving mode, subject entirely to how much Putin wants them to save face, and everyone in the Kremlin and the rest of the world knows it.
