**SPOILER ALERT** Most of the suspense and therefore enjoyment of Liam Neeson's new action thriller "Non Stop" comes from trying to figure out who the villain is and why this person is doing what he or she is doing. If you read the rest of this article, it will spoil the entire movie for you. Period. You have been warned.

I enjoyed the movie tremendously. We find out at the end that the mastermind is a nutcase, with no group agreeing with his deranged reasoning. The other bad guy is a greed motivated soldier who is willing for people to die for the sake of many millions of dollars. I didn’t take it as a slam of the military. The fact that the one who turns out to be totally misguided (the mastermind) also thinks our war effort was pointless or thinks the TSA needs to be MORE intrusive is not a problem for me at all. “Badguy-ness” undermines his whole ideology. Finally, I was actually pleased by the treatment of the Muslim doctor’s role.
I recommend the movie to anyone who likes heroic action on behalf of innocent masses!
Movie star Liam Neeson has admitted hes afraid to convert to Islam because of how locals in his home town would take it.Translation: he's a closet Muslim who will not say so in so many words for PR reasons. The Northern Irish actor thinks Islam is the answer after experiencing the Muslim call to prayer while filming Taken 2 in Istanbul.
But the 61-year-old doesnt want to go all the way because people in Ballymena, Co Antrim, may be annoyed with his decision.
Well that is disturbing.
The beast is very fat and will continue to thrive but it would gall me to personally add to it’s wealth too much. I buy used dvds and go on rare occasions to the movies but mostly with free previews. I know I still contribute but I try to keep my footprint very small.
I saw it today, and enjoyed it... was pretty good. I don't get this whole fuss over the plot... it was about as offensive as Dennis the Menace.
“I know I still contribute but I try to keep my footprint very small.”
Bravo for being so diligent about your contributions to the beast; more should do the same.
I copy CD’s and DVD’s from the public library (or also buy used) if there’s something I “must” have. I refuse to spend anything to line the pockets of those that are 100% against my vision of “America” and what it means.
I’ve posted on FR in the past that when given the opportunity to go to say, Red Sox games, I will only go if the ticket is free and I will not spend a penny on any concessions or gay foam fingers or any other foolishness. I’m more than happy to “pay back” my gifter with dinner either before or after said game, for example. But give money to fire-breathing liberals like the Red Sox ownership? No f***ing way.
The amount of $ that I’ve spend going to the movies over the last ~5 years has flatlined. Throw in that the dollar$ spend on mediocrity typically are lining the pockets of enemies, and it’s a surefire way to induce me to not $pend anything.
Let someone else watch their sh*t and buy “their” trinkets.
The fuss is over who the writers chose as the villains.
It was about as non-political as you can get. The villains weren't TEA Party types, Republicans or even all white. Everyone here's getting themselves into a tizzy over nothing. It was a good action flick... nothing more.
"The terrorist is a 9/11 family member. Yes, you read that right; the terrorist is a 9/11 family member who lost a loved-one in the World Trade Center on that terrible September morning.
It gets worse After 9/11, this 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist then joined the military but found himself disillusioned by the pointless wars.
And now The 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist is upset because America hasnt done enough to ensure there will never be another 9/11. And so he figures that if he can get an air marshal blamed for a terrorist attack, America will wake up and anally probe us before we're allowed on a plane, or something.
It gets worse The villain's sidekick is a member of the American military willing to murder 150 innocent people for a payday.
It gets worse The one passenger on the plane who is forever helpful, kind, reasonable, noble, and never under suspicion is a Muslim doctor dressed in traditional Muslim garb including a full beard..."
Is that accurate or not? If so, keep it.
There's enough bashing and thrashing of my Country going on every day from the current sock puppets running it and their toad party on the Left without my having to pay to see it from Hollywood as well.
Glad you enjoyed it. I'll pass.
You don’t know who the perps are until the very end, and even then, their reasons/backgrounds are so minor in the scope of things I doubt many viewers would even pay attention or could tell you any of what that article is telling you. I don’t know what got into that author’s craw about this movie... it just isn’t a political movie at all.
Words mean things.
Plots are written a specific way to convey a specific imagery.
It might not be “a political movie” per se, but the choice of the villains certainly IS a political statement, however subtle.
I enjoyed Neeson in “Taken” and “Taken 2”. I also enjoyed him in “Michael Collins” and “Rob Roy” as well.
But for this, with that ending? Nah.
Like I said. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ll pass.
I won’t be watching this one.
I now have contempt for the #. Planned to watch Taken 2, but the Hell with that.
