Does Mr. Lucas engage in anal sex? Because that would help his cause immensely in the press.

Webster Lucas claims he is now unable to work because of the ‘undue mental anguish’ and ‘emotional distress’ caused by the incident.

I thought WHOPPERS were over in Burger King.

I don't have a feeling either way about this with the customer....

I would like to throw the judge that let this go forward off of a cliff though...

Mr Lucas, who is African-American, says the he was racially abused by the manager when he went back to the counter to ask for more, according to TMZ.

The employee, who is named only as 'Angel' and is said to be of Mexican-American appearance, is alleged to have mumbled something that sounded like 'you people', Mr Lucas claims.

How did the American people come to believe that it is somehow legally actionable to be offended?

If you insult me I am going to sue you!!!!

How did we become such a thin skinned people?

he should be complimented at the good service he was given

at our local McD’s, they don’t give you any napkins at all, you have to go try to fish them out of a dispenser machine

What a racist, to assume that the phrase “you people” was about his race. It may have been about people that act like him. Or it may have been about people that keep trying to use their expired race card. I was just in a convention where “you people” meant C# developers.

A tad off-topic: I saw a mini-expose about the elderly New Mexico woman who won a ~$700,000 settlement some years ago against McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her lap. Her story has been twisted around, making her look like a opportunist, when in fact she only wanted MD’s to pay about ten grand for medical bills (yes, she was badly burned and needed skin grafts). MD’s just laughed and offered a few hundred bucks, and in response her lawyer instigated the multi-million dollar lawsuit, that was reduced by a judge. Bottom line, she was wrongly portrayed in the media as a grifting opportunist.

I’m pretty sure there’s a napkin dispenser within customer reach. Is this guy suing himself?

Evidently, somewhere there is an attorney who agreed to take his case and file suit. Somewhere there is a judge who will listen to this drivel and likely let the case proceed. And hours of attorney time will build up taking depositions about the Great Napkin Outrage.

McDonalds will pay those fees even if they win. An ethical attorney or a common sense judge would never consider such a ludicrous suit and the "justice system" grinds on. Were I the judge, I would throw both the plaintiff and his attorney in jail for contempt of court.

I was in McDonalds once where some work was being done and a wall outlet had been uncovered. A couple of punks walked in and immediately noticed it and started talking about how they could fake an accident and sue.

I asked to talk to the manager and got the owner who happened to be there and pointed it out to him. By the time I left he had dragged a couple of trash cans over and put up some caution tape around the spot.

wow! That's cool. One time I didn't get enough ketchup. That should easily be worth $5 million!

Seriously though, I went to a Chinese take out restaurant in a food court and only got one sweet and sour packet for a large fried rice.
When I politely asked the owner for a second one he yelled “ONE IS ENOUGH!”

I never bought anything there again and probably cost him $5000 in business by telling that story. I did however take all the free samples that were offered when his employees or wife would stand in the food court. I had no idea that I was owed MILLIONS for his rude behavior...
