I agree No. 1 is the law.

But you are incorrect re: hiding the kill. Overzealous government idiots who don’t know the law will prosecute you anyway. In fact, there was a recent story of a man attacked by a bear in MA where they charged the man for killing a bear that attacked him.

Yes, there are places where you can’t count on the law. More and more places. I don’t usually think of places like MA when I read a story about wildlife. I don’t really think of the NE when I think about the USA either to be blunt.
