You’re right, I think. I was referring to the various parentage and shuffling of “partners,” but there’s a lot to be said for being down in the trenches with the whole family engaged in survival.
Models and rappers and banking heiresses aren’t worried about survival.
I told the boys that there are two types of girls to look out for; the ones who want you to take them home from the party, and the ones who want you to take them home to mom and dad. Don’t ever confuse the two of them, and stay away from the former.
The sequence of life is: Education, job/career, marriage, home, kids. Do not shuffle the order.
Wouldn’t that also apply to girls....there are two kinds of boys....the ones who want to take you home from the party and the ones who want to take you home to meet the folks.

During the Civil War children as young as eight were providing for the family. Today they won’t do the dishes. I think the lack of a family job makes kids feel they’re not worthwhile. If I’m not worthwhile and important with responsibilities, why not do drugs and party all day?
BTW, the government keeps them on your insurance until 26. How times change.
