As he lay bleeding on a downtown Kansas City street, newlywed Anthony Bruno mouthed Dont let me die to a bystander who had rolled him on his back to check two gunshot wounds.
On the pavement nearby, Police Officer Donald Hubbard felt himself drifting in and out of consciousness. Blood dripped from his broken and battered face. He tried to get up but fell back.
The bystander, who happened to be a critical care nurse in a hospital trauma unit, could not find Brunos pulse. She asked Hubbard to apply pressure to Brunos wounds while she began chest compressions. Hubbard crawled to her as sirens sounded in the distance, according to documents released Tuesday by police.
Soon an arriving police officer asked what direction the gunman had fled.
Hubbard looked up.
I shot him, he said.
Multiple witnesses described elements of that scene to investigators trying to piece together what led to an off-duty Kansas City police officer fatally shooting an off-duty Kansas City firefighter who had been celebrating his November wedding in the early hours of Dec. 1....

The name calling by the other posters was still uncalled for.
So, you support criminals being able to walk away, after committing an assault?
Do you know the bride’s name, because I don’t. Since she didn’t commit a crime, the officer didn’t have a reasonable reason to hold her.
The police are allowed to use whatever reasonable force is necessary to affect an arrest. Reasonable, as defined by the law, basically means whatever it takes as long as the force used was proportionate to the amount of resistance met.
So in this case, an officer applying a knee to the head could be considered reasonable if the arrested provided enough resistance that it was required.
You wouldn’t be fearful for your life if somebody had managed to subdue you and starts hitting you with the apparent intent to kill you?
Really, no fear at all from you in that situation?
Tasers aren’t 100%. If you have only one chance to save your life, and you had both, you had better resort to the gun.
Some people will always blame the cops if the situation doesn’t come out in an optimal fashion.
So, you’re saying the bride should have been arrested instead. On what basis?
Because the guy committed a crime against another human being. Why do you support criminals being able to commit harm to other people and walking away freely?
Yep
They criticize cops for being disengaged donut munchers on one hand but then when they actually do their job they criticize them for incompetence or brutality.
They don’t seem to have a middle ground or a balanced center.
They suffer from BBB — Bipolar Badge Bashing syndrome.
I wouldn’t say dropping a knee onto the guy’s head as he did was “applying”. He didn’t press his head down while someone else cuffed him, he spun from the side so he could strike his head with his knee. That’s when the whole incident changed. He was then out of any position to cuff him and was committed to wrestling with him. Unless back-up arrived in the next 30 seconds, someone was getting beaten or shot.
I wasn't brainwashed into believing that I am some sort of minor Godlette or minor Superhero who needs to "confront" every unruly peasant in the vicinity, especially if I'm wearing my Magic Blue minor Superhero costume.
So, no - I, and 99% of the other CCW "civilians" wouldn't be in that situation in the first place.
Your "Confrontation!!! At All Costs" training eventually leads to the crap that happened in the Christopher Dorner case - where the Coercive Elite gunthugs just start spraying every peasant in sight with lead, just to make sure...
You're NOT heroes, nor Godlettes, nor Superheroes.
You're not much different from those German-speaking guys in Magic Black costumes from a few decades ago that were trained to "confront" Jews.
You guys have moved on to "civilians", "peasants" & "Mundanes".
"You wanna go to jail for some f***ing reason I come up with?"

Whoops.

Godwin’s Law — You Lose
Hell no. That’s crazy.
The guy pummeled a cop and paid for it with is life.
However, looking at that perfect “carry” move, after the cop came over the top, it is evident he was outclassed and using his weapon was the only means to enforce his order.
It might have been more judicious thinking to wait for more blue but, for whatever reason, that is not indicated on the video, he didn’t.
You already admitted that you've lost enough IQ points for the month, and were retiring from the fray.
So sad...
Did the fire-fighting Mundane have a criminal record that we're unaware of?
You've got it bad - Us vs Them, Cop vs Peasant, Paramilitary Mallninja Marys vs Mundane Civilians.
Can you read? I said he should be arrested. I said he couldn’t get away. Even if he fled the scene.
K.C. COP CASE MIRRORS ZIMMERMAN’S ALMOST
Jack Cashill compares 2 incidents, says one of them ended with justice

You actually wanted that officer to be injured that badly?
