why take chances any chance at all that you're little one could be hurt?.....why...why...why
But, cats don’t usually do this.
Uh oh, now all dog lovers will be up in arms about this unfair story of a misunderstood poor dog.
A pit bull? Noooooo,,, this just doesn’t sound right. I want sources,,,,
Well there’s not much understood about this dog other than that it was a pit. Was it old? Sick? Had it been trained to be mean? Was the child trying to do something to the dog out of adult supervision?
Having pet cats is one way of having a pet that is less likely to harm a child, if a pet is desired. All dogs will bite, and will bite rather than attempt to flee like most cats will if they sense a threat.
Are people really that stupid? Or is there something more sinister going on here? I vote the latter.
We had to give our dog away when our baby started crawling and getting banged into, trampled and pawed at.
You think you can keep them separated but you really can’t.
Dog lives in a nicer place now, outside the city with a huge yard and other dogs to play with.
I was regaled in my youth with the story of a neighbor, our doctor actually, who heard the dog whimpering and found his toddler son with his hand down the dog's throat. A collie.
“IT IS EVIL TO PLACE YOUR CHILDREN IN SUCH DANGER.”

I could never understand the type of person that would own one of these beast.
When I lived out in the country in west Tennessee, only a few black kids had pit bulls, their thinking it was cool. Fortunately, the dogs lasted only a few days before being run over on the highway.
That’s the one way I have heard to flummox a dog bent on biting. Shove fist down its throat. Takes some faith to believe that yes, the gag or gasp reflex will supersede the bite one.
It is hard to imagine a worse way for a soft, young child to go, than the way a dog would slowly kill one, in bits and pieces.
Pitbulls are designed to attack and kill. They are weapons with mind of their own. No operator necessary for them to kill and maim. Poor children that die due to adults’ stupidity.
Is it a Darwin award win if your offspring dies because of your stupidity? Sounds harsh and not fair, but laws of nature are hardly fair.
That’s a common expectation and some people like it.
So unscrupulous breeders will be abusive to the puppies in order to build up their “fight.” Kick them around, put Tabasco in their face, etc.
And it becomes self fulfilling prophecy. If you actually go on You Tube and look, there are a lot of cute videos of kittens and pits cavorting together to various cute musical backgrounds.

There is no reason to not believe that this pit was a loving dog. These creatures just snap...when they do, they kill.
Again this is a risk with many dogs. But a German Shepherd, say, is less likely to be raised mean because of a clientele that wants the dog to be mean.
Let’s not go off half cocked here with bad science any more than we should go Chicken Little with climate change and bad science.
Dreadful. RIP.
Where’s Mooch?
