That said, on the issue of learning Spanish. We can bury our heads in the sand, or we can do all we can to ensure our kids have as much of a future as this country -- whatever it will be -- allows.
My kids WILL learn Spanish.
So you will have your children learn Mexican?? Because Spain is not taking over our country. Mexican Spanish is different than European Spanish (which is taught in most high schools).
If you really want your children to be able to surrender you probably ought to have them learn some version of Cantonese
You need to spend time in a border state, if you can’t imagine by now, what’s going on.
Can’t Americans figure out that if it’s easy for us to accommodate tens of millions of illegal Mexican immigrants by learning their culture as they won’t ever give a rat about our culture, laws, language and borders, that it’s easy for them to learn English?

I suggest learning Mandarin Chinese.
They’d be better off learning accounting, finance, computer programming. Then again, if they plan a career in landscaping, garbage hauling, fast food, etc. then it may be a good thing to do. I can’t think of an environment withing the United States I would want to stay in where only Spanish is spoken.
