He was an excellent character to hate because he represented every petty, power hungry bureaucrat who ever made you miserable because of their feckless, blinkard pettiness.

“Dickless” was also the TV reporter creep in the first couple of “Die Hard” movies. I loved when he was decked. I did not care for Bruce Willis’ wife character. What a snot.

That's William Atherton with Bill Murray.

He also played the television reporter, Dick Thornburg,
in the Die Hard movies. Truly a loathsome character.
