That's part of it. The reason for the high price is thanks to the f’ing EPA. In order to be ‘’environmentally conscious’’ the EPA mandated that ethanol be added to gasoline. Ethonal comes from corn. So with the the oil companies having to abide by this regulation it's more profitable for farmers to sell corn to the oil companies then to ranchers. Leaving ranchers to reduce the size of their herds and up goes the price of beef. F'ing Greens and enviroNazis. I hate them.

I learned from a farmer last year that the farmers were the ones playing the market for corn....playing both ends.

One of the farmers I met said he bought up everything he could in "his" area....and went to strictly corn to feed the nearby ethanol plant.

In the past, he had grown all different crops...beans, potatoes, etc etc...

See post 66. I realize that may be hard to accept because it doesn’t mesh with the ‘corn is high priced because of ethanol’.
