It allegedly started with her jogging in her toe shoes and sporting headphones. It ended in video of her screaming and being led away in handcuffs. What happened in between is a matter of debate, but video showing parts of the incident is certainly gaining traction online.
Whatever the woman did to get the attention of Austin, Texas police, a witness video of cops detaining her on a city sidewalk Thursday morning then escorting her to a nearby squad car indicate she was not happy with their actions.

Student Chris Quintero, who the Daily Texan reported witnessed the arrest, said he saw the woman jogging with headphones on when police ran after her. When the woman failed to stop, the officer grabbed her by the arm and handcuffed her, Quintero said.

According to a statement to The Daily Texan from police spokeswoman Lisa Cortinas: [In this case], the call is titled failure to identify.

Its an old fashioned value to demand people carry their papers?
“Toe shoes?”
Have some of the benefits of barefoot running with a little protection from beer bottle etc. hazards.
“Do they ever talk about the Designer? ;)”
Generally in the last mile of their run.
Personally, if I'm dead, I don't care WHO gets called.
My kids are fairly not-stupid. They'd figure it out eventually. There is an estate after all.
Cops over-reacted. Bottom line. And public opinion will be formed by the video. Get used to it.

Video tape a cop...that’s an arrestin’
My son is a long distance runner and he used to suffer from plantar fasciitis. Years ago he started wearing Five Fingers. He’s never had any problem since then.
Sure was. LOL!
Oh.. and sometimes, most times, I wouldn't be able to hear them either. And that's without wearing ear buds.
If you want me to know what you are saying, get my attention and face me when you speak. Lipreading is a wonderful thing.
I've got a grand-daughter that I will never hear or understand until she can pitch her voice into my limited range. Well, and learn to speak better than a 2 year old can.

I have that same problem with the Missus.
:^\
I can only wish that my hearing problems had appeared back when I was married. I might still be married. ;)

Nope. Those first, these second:
“The cop sees the guy going the wrong way on a one-way street, and rather than demanding ID, pointing a gun at him, or even giving him a ticket, he blocks traffic for him, gets him safely off onto a side road and on his way and once the problem is cleared up... leaves. Amazing. Kudos. I wish there were more of his type around.”
I had a somewhat similar situation in Chicago about 20 years ago. The police woman waved down traffic & motioned for me to make turn off the one way. I was quite thankful. She could have been Michale’s aunt.
I would have arrested her for wearing the stupidest shoes ever made since the earth shoe.
“...about how to get control of these knotheads.”
Correction... ‘...about how to get control of these fat bastards’ ... these scum deserve 5 years of prison time for this kind of $hit. And they should have to wear a sign in prison that says...’Ex-Cop’
Thanks. I was thinking ballet toe shoes, which seemed a bit odd.
The jaywalking stop was the first arrest. A ticketable offense is technically an arrest. She probably mouthed off and/or wouldn’t give her right name. She was taken into custody for that, is my guess.
“That’s a real nice job you have there, officer.”
“Would be a shame if your home address was found......”
I would hate to have you at a HOA meeting.
