I’ve been asked by a Freeper neighbour to sign up to add something to this thread, and this may well be my first and last post! As a qualified dive master with over 25 years of experience, including working in dive schools in Egypt, Thailand and BVI, I think I can help here. As an occasional lurker I’ve seen a few threads on the Fuddy story, but it was too silly to take seriously so I didn’t really pay close attention. But at my friend’s request, I looked at the “diver” photos.
Butterdezillion, please take this advice because it is kindly meant and demonstrably true - ask any diver. No diver assasin would enter deep water without the most basic diving equipment - namely a flotation device (jacket with integrated regulator), mask, snorkel, flippers, octopus ect. It would be suicide and against every regulation ever written. Whatever you saw had none of these things, so could not have been a diver.
Anyone wearing an air tank with no flotation device would drown in seconds. This single fact is all that is required to dismiss this theory.
Nothing else about shoes, or clothes matters. If the figure you think you see has no flotation device, it is impossible for it to be a diver. I think it would help if you could acknowledge this information, to stop others spreading this rumor. It’s been damaging to your personal reputation according to my neighbour, so now would perhaps be a good time to put it to bed. Thanks for all you do - but this is a losing hand.
