Sounds like my driveway, about the same length plus 2 curves and uphill all the way, last 30 feet pretty steep too. In the 30 years we have been here every new person that comes here comments on it. I had an appointment at the bank otherwise I would not have tried to go, laid down a bag of salt fro the top before I did. The only good thing about an uphill driveway is you can almost always get out no matter how much snow, it’s getting back up that’s the trick. Ice is the worst. I basically slid my way over to the snow off the driveway, shoveled with my hand to get it low enough so I could get over on it and then got up. I had the foresight to have my leftover-from-knee-surgery spiked cane with me in the car when I left otherwise I would not have made it up even in the snow which was almost to my hips. Sorry to get off topic. I’ll feel better once I can start garden planning.

Unfortunately, we live at the bottom of it. Studded tires get us out; have only had to use chains once in the last 10 years.

When I was coming down, I had had to take a truck with a broken radiator & no coolant to the top, because the tow truck couldn’t make it down to take it to the shop. I had strap-on ice cleats, but the ice was so hard they wouldn’t penetrate, and even broke two of the spikes off.

Snowing again today; I’m going to hunt down & roast that ##@*&***% groundhog!

Got seeds and potato sets ordered, and want to get cracking! Also a bit anxious to see if my fall planted garlic & grains survived.
